Originally from Troy, New York, Terry Provost has been writing poetry for over 20 years, has performed his poetry from Seattle to Providence, and has published two books of poetry, Compassionate Imperialism (Deep Cleveland), and An Uncountable Infinity of Orgasms (Nightballet). He currently hosts the highly respected Bowled Over by Poetry Reading series, on first Mondays at Mahall’s. Living in Lakewood, with his wife, Karen Cook, and son, Jackson, he is an adjunct professor of mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College. His poetry is ordinately concerned with what makes meaning mean, justice just, creativity create, music muse, and importance important.

Steve Thomas reentered college as a parent looking to set an example and find a new direction. He received a great deal of creative support from several Baldwin Wallace University faculty members. And then continued writing after finally graduating and occasionally featuring at the original Visible Voice Books and The Literary Cafe during the last decade. The poems he performed are now in book form. The Strength of Flowers is an attempt to express lessons learned with the hope they can be shared with others.
